How’s your balance? I created a yoga class for balance for you (see video). It’s a nice play around with arm and standing balances.
When I started doing yoga my balance was all over the place. But by keep doing it, I slowly got better at it. I won’t say I’m good at it, just not as shit as I was when I started doing yoga.
For some reason: arm balances are easy for me. Maybe it’s my long arms. By now I’m an arm balance junkie, who loves to play around with poses he’s just not capable of doing yet. As Osho used to say: ‘It’s no fun to reach your goal. If you reach it, you have to find a new goal again. You better enjoy the road.’
Balance postures are really good for strength. Maybe on the first place you haven’t got the idea you’re using your strength as much as for instance in push ups. But all the little moves your muscles have to make to keep you balanced require them to work hard. So balancing is a strength training as well.
And it even becomes more power when you combine it with warm balances. Now your upper body and core have to work hard – together with your arms – to keep you for falling over. Suddenly you’re giving your whole body a work-out.
Yoga class for arm balance
That is precisely what this class is aiming at: giving your whole body a work-out. But in the way I like it most: working hard, but having fun at the same time. I hope you enjoy this class as well.
