I don’t think I ever worked a day in my life. Well, maybe the first view years, when I was a credit manager at Siemens Nederland, but after that? I can’t remember. Don’t worry, I always put in a lot of hours, far more than I should, but I can’t call it work. I just did what I liked and was mostly paid for it: journalist, photographer, yoga teacher, massage therapist. Working as a volunteer I more or less do the same. I make long days, but I’m having fun doing so. At La Mariposa I teach yoga, make movies, take photos and for the last view weeks I’ve worked on our recipe book: The secrets of our Kitchen.
Most people who come to La Mariposa love the food the kitchen staff is making here. They are right. They make some amazing dishes. Seemingly there was an idea for sometime to make a recipe book, but somehow it never happened. I have to luck I’ve got a lot of freedom here and can pick up all those little things I love: movies, films and now this recipe book.
What will be in there, I’m going to keep a little surprise till it’s totally done. But in the last couple of weeks I’ve been working with Christina on some of the photos; the raw ingredients. For those who like to cook, just as I, here is a sneak preview.
