I created this power yoga class with resistance band for a friend of mine. She knows I do some High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and that using a resistance band is sometimes part of it. I often combine my HIIT sessions with yoga. In that case yoga forms my warming-up and very long cooling down.
Especially after sprint work (running up stairs) or skipping my quadriceps and hamstrings are perfectly warm to do some long and deep stretching. I need that heat anyway in my muscles. I think the warming-up is too often skipped in yoga. Repetitive movement and a lot of Sun Salutations (and variations) can feel boring, but they are essential. I replace them with HIIT in some of my personal practices.
