I picked up this recipe in a book. Can’t remember which one, but I know what the story was. It was said that in early China a monk would always brew a soup with ginseng, reishi mushrooms and goji berries. The monk was already 125 years old. The emperor wanted to know his secret and asked him to come to his castle.
When the monk arrived he was made special guest of the emperor and treated on the best and finest food that was available in the Kingdom. Within two weeks the monk died. His body couldn’t cope with all the white sugar and refined products. He became so old, because he only feed himself with products coming directly from nature.
Because it’s hard (and expensive) to get reishi mushrooms and goji berries, I make a tea instead of a soup. I’m using reishi powder for it. So: half a teaspoon of reishi powder, goji berries to taste (they make it sweet) and 1 spoon of ginseng.
I hope the long life tea will really make you live longer.
