I can’t believe it, but a week from now I’m leaving Central America and I’ll be on my way to the Netherlands. But before it’s that far, I’m going to have an Acro Yoga and Dance Party.
I don’t really feel like going home. For me it feels more as a stop over to see my family and friends, to teach some workshops for the my old students, having a cup of tea with them, catching up. Home is where my yoga mat is. At this moment my mat is in Nicaragua, at PURE Yoga, Health Adventure and that is where my home is. Literally, because my room is three meters away from the Yoga shala.
I think The Netherlands feels as a stopover, because I already know I’m going to leave again. At the end of this year I’ll be an teaching at a teacher training of Sampoorna Yoga in India. From there on I will travel to Budapest to teach a teacher trainings course at Budapest Yoga. We have a bit of a strange law in the Netherlands that states that I have to sleep four months a year in my own bed, if I am resident. I am, so I will sleep four months in my own bed. Don’t get me wrong, I am really excited to see my family again, to see my friends again, to eat Dutch goat cheese again, have really good, dark chocolate and eat a lot of lentils (they are very expensive in Nicaragua), but I don’t get this law. There are people who have tried to fight it. Too much energy. It’s hard to win from a bureaucratic system, so I’m not wasting any energy on it; I’m just going to make the best out of it.
Next week is close by, at the same time it is far away. If I have learned one thing, it’s living in the moment. This weekend is far away enough and that is the only thing I’m looking forward to. Because we are going to have an Acro Yoga and Dance Party. In the Netherlands we have a little, but amazing Acro Yoga Festival, PaasCro. I am very much in love with that festival. we are going to have a little version, with an Acro Yoga workshop Friday evening, followed by a dessert party and an ecstatic dance party. Everybody will sleepover in the dojo. Saturday morning we will have a yoga class to warm-up and from there on do an Acro Yoga jam. I can’t wait till it’s weekend, even when it means going home comes closer and closer.
If you are around in Nicaragua, come and fly, dance, eat, share and party with us. Just sent an email to PURE Yoga, Health Adventure that you want to come as well. You won’t regret it….
